chadbourne residence

Referred by the Fenwood clients to the bldc team, the clients at Chadbourne sought a partner to update their primary bathroom. The primary was in need of an overhaul to suit the busy family of five.

  • Sadie embraced the challenge of making the small bathroom larger, updating its ease-of-use and ensuring its family-friendliness—all while keeping the original plumbing in the same location. To begin, smart space planning was needed to rework the floor plan. The space was extended by about two feet, which helped accommodate additional storage, a full-length mirror and towel hooks. The toilet was updated to tankless and orientation was shifted, allowing for an added storage cabinet for the family linens and bath necessities.

The client desired a light, bright space that would stand the test of time without losing personality. Small pops of color—like greens and yellows present in the penny round tiling, shower curtain and window shade—bring a sense of charm without sacrificing functionality. Textural details and a mix of finishes, like the unlacquered brass faucet and showering paired with bronze details and dark wood, bring warmth while remaining easy to clean and maintain. The space feels both unique and timeless while meeting all the daily demands of a bustling family.
